Ranchi: Recently a shocking news is coming out from Jharkhand, in which it is being told that due to the negligence of the state health department, medicines worth lakhs were expired and they were thrown away. This incident is from Lohardaga district. Expired medicines worth lakhs of rupees were found dumped like garbage in the Sadar Hospital premises. These medicines were received in the old building at a distance of few steps from the Civil Surgeon's office. Whereas the civil surgeon says that he is not even aware of it. Although he is saying that after investigating it, action will be taken against the culprit.

Many medicines are expensive and life saving among the expired medicines thrown away like garbage. Medicines have expired in different months of the year 2020 and 2021. There are also some tonics, cough syrups, children's medicines and antibiotics which could have been used in the corona epidemic. There is a shortage of doctors and medical staff in government hospitals in remote rural areas of the district, due to which the quantity of medicines ordered by the health department is not fully utilized.

The medicines found in the same garbage dump contain Alpravin 0.25 in large quantities. The cost of one packet of which is Rs 928. This medicine expired in December 2020. Many medicines including Cetrigin Syrup, Amoxicillin Oral, Nemorange are dumped. Immediately after asking a question in this regard to the Civil Surgeon, the pile of medicines was removed from there. The same civil surgeon called the pharmacist on the spot and inquired. Checked the register. There was no medicine entry in it. On this, the CS said that if this medicine is not from Sadar Hospital, then where is it and how it came here will also be investigated.
