SRINAGAR: On Friday, widespread light to moderate rain fell in Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, with the Meteorological (MeT) department predicting mostly gloomy weather for the next 24 hours in the two Union Territories.
"Today, weather is most likely to stay cloudy at most places in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh with periodic light rain/snowfall over higher ranges," the metrological department said in a statement. From evening forward, expect steady improvement. Overall, no significant rain is expected next week, but a brief period of light rain with thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in some areas."
Today's minimum temperatures were 8.6, 2.0, and 0 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg. The minimum temperature in Drass, Ladakh, was minus 0.6, Leh, 0.4, and Kargil, 0.8. The minimum temperature in Jammu was 18.1, Katra was 17.0, Batote was 8.9, Banihal was 7.0, and Bhaderwah was 7.3.
