LUCKNOW: In a bid to stregnthen the state's transportation system, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday unveiled the 'UP Rahi' app, which which will allow passengers to make online reservations while sitting at home.

According to a government press release, this software offers cashless services in addition to letting customers pre-book bus trips from the convenience of their homes. In addition to this, the passengers will be able to provide comments on the app regarding issues they encountered during their trip, the conductor's behaviour, the state of the bus, and other relevant topics.

Thousands of state bus passengers will now be able to travel without issue thanks to the implementation of this software. Passengers can download the app from the Google Play store. The app is accessible in Hindi in addition to English, the press statement stated.

Passengers will be able to book tickets online with this app, said UPSRTC General Manager IT Yuzvendra Kumar. Nevertheless, after downloading the programme, consumers must first register. Once users have registered, they will be able to enjoy the entire functionality of the app.

The key function of this app is the ability to book tickets. Currently, one can pay for a ticket using cash or a digital device while riding a bus. Yet there are lots of problems with this system. The conductor occasionally ran out of change when accepting payment, forcing the passengers to pay more. In cashless transactions, the network problem arose regularly and needed to be resolved.

With the introduction of this Application, you will get rid of all these hassles. To buy  tickets through the app, users can use a QR code, UPI, credit card, debit card, or any other digital payment gateway. Passengers will not need to take a printout of the ticket after booking the ticket. They can travel by showing the status of ticket booking on the app itself," he said.
The second-most important element of this app is related to passenger input, aside from this. Passengers who want to share any information about their trip can do so through a function in the app. With their feedback, they are able to give specifics about the staff, such as the conductor's demeanour or if the driver was operating the bus safely or not.
Ten of these points are available for comment from passengers. The officials of the department will immediately learn about the passenger's journey.

"Their recommendations will also give us a chance to enhance our offerings. The information gathered from the feedback will enable us to address any issues and raise the standard "Kumar said.

Yuzvendra Kumar also claims that the software now has some more helpful functions. This will allow users to track their prior travels. In this way, they may maintain the security of all of their prior transactions. Customers will now have a choice of buses when buying tickets.

If users choose to ride a Volvo bus, for instance, the app will let them know whether any Volvo buses are currently operating along their route or not. Similarly, if a nonstop bus runs along their route, that information will also be displayed.

There will be information on all bus types, such as low-floor AC buses, Rajdhani, Ordinary, Janrath, AC Sleeper, Pink Express, Shatabdi, and Gramin Sewa. They can see which bus is traveling that route and when by entering the name of the destination station in the app. They will also be able to choose the pickup point as per their convenience.

The release stated that one must first download the app from the Google Playstore and register on it by giving information about any government document number (Aadhaar card or PAN card) to ascertain one's identity. After registration, ID and password will be generated enabling the person to use the app.

One can also create one's profile on this app. It also gives detailed information about the cancellation policy. For any kind of help, one can use the support feature. The facility to change password is also provided. In the coming times, one will also be able to plan one's trip through this app, the release added.
