Amritsar: In Punjab, infighting continues in the ruling Congress party. Captain Amarinder Singh's fever seems to be softening after Navjot Singh Sidhu was made the President of Punjab Congress. Sources say Amarinder may take action against the MLAs openly supporting Sidhu. Party sources said CM Captain Amarinder Singh is now in the mood to take action once again overexposing files against MLAs who are openly seen with Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Darshan Barad, MLA of Baghapurana town in Moga, is accused of illegally installing crashers on government land in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, and has siphoned off crores of rupees to the Punjab government by continuous illegal mining. In December 2020, Darshan Barad was issued a notice by the mining department over the same case and a fine of Rs 1.65 crore was imposed. Since then, Darshan Barad has been constantly pressurizing CM Amarinder to waive the fine and get the notice returned, but when the captain did not do so, Darshan came out in support of Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Now, once again, Captain Amarinder Singh is preparing to reopen darshan Barad's same fine file and Darshan Barad may be pressurized by the mining department in the coming days and legal action may be taken.
