Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel on Friday attacked the Narendra Modi government over the target killings in Jammu and Kashmir and asked why BJP and RSS are silent on these incidents. He also said that although BJP leaders had earlier claimed that the abrogation of Article 370 would bring normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, the situation was far from it. CM Baghel was discussing with the media at the helipad of Police Lines here before going to Bastar area as part of his constituency-wise public relations campaign 'Bhent Mulaqat'.

Recently, on a question on the target killings in Kashmir, Baghel said, they (BJP leaders) were claiming that everything will be normal there after revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Then why didn't it happen? He had time to watch 'Kashmir Files'. But why are BJP and RSS silent now when Hindus are being killed there? He alleged that the important thing is that his plan on Kashmir has completely failed. What he thought was not right. CM Baghel further asked who is responsible for the killings of Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus in Kashmir and what the government is doing to ensure their safety.

On Thursday, Hindu government employees took out a rally there demanding to know what steps were being taken by the government to ensure their safety. The Government of India and the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir should answer them. He asked what would happen to the general public when they could not protect the government employees. When asked about Haryana Congress MLAs coming here in view of possible horse-trading in the Rajya Sabha elections, he said that everything is fine and they are taking training and holding meetings. He also accused the BJP of being involved in horse-trading and claimed that it brings leaders of other parties into its fold by force and deceit.
