CM Bhupesh writes to Central government, says vaccine price should be uniform across the country

The vaccine can be seen as a major measure in the middle of rising corona cases across the country, but there has been a huge shortage of vaccines in the country itself. In addition, a number of big questions are also being raised about the price of the vaccine. Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has written to the Central Government demanding uniform value of the vaccine.

CM Bhupesh Baghel has asked Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has been written to appeal to him to fix the minimum price of covid vaccine so that the entire country can get the vaccine at the same rates. The CM wrote in the letter that "Serum Institute has issued a press release informing that they are going to supply vaccine at the rate of Rs 400 per vaccine to the state government and Rs 600 per vaccine to private hospitals. While the vaccine is still being given by the serum institute at the rate of Rs 150".

In the letter, Baghel wrote, "It has been reported through newspapers that covicshield in India is going to be offered at the highest rates in the world which seems to have been increased by serum institute with the objective of making "additional profit" in view of the increasing outbreak in the country. The government of India is, therefore, required to fix the minimum possible rates of vaccine under the "Price Control of Drugs" provisions". It has been learned that 16,731 new covid positive patients have been found in Chhattisgarh in the last 24 hours. In Chhattisgarh, 203 people have lost their lives from Covid on Saturday. The highest number of 2,138 new cases have been reported in the capital Raipur. 46 people have died here.
