At least 29 students from Meghalaya have returned to India after studying in the war-torn Ukraine. Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, acknowledged this. Conrad Sangma also stated that 13 more Meghalaya students are expected to arrive in the nation soon from Ukraine.

"On Thursday, 29 students from Meghalaya studying in Ukraine arrived safely in India; two are in way to the border, and 11 have reached neighbouring countries and will be flown back to India soon," the Meghalaya chief minister said.

Meanwhile, the Indian government is continuing its massive airlift of Indian students and nationals from Ukraine's neighbouring nations' safe zones. Three Indian Air Force (IAF) C17 planes landed at Hindan airport near Delhi on Friday morning, carrying 630 Indian nationals. The C17 aircraft of the IAF took off from Romanian and Hungarian airfields.
