Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday reprimanded the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Nagaon district for stopping traffic for his visit. This also led to traffic jams near Gumothagaon on NH-37. Speaking about the incident, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that he has scolded the concerned authorities for stopping traffic for me despite clear instructions not to cause inconvenience to the people during my visit. The National Highway was jammed for more than 15 minutes, which also had ambulances. This VIP culture is not acceptable in today's Assam.

In the video, the CM is seen on the road surrounded by his guards, he calls the Superintendent of Police. When he sees DC, he says, "Hey, DC sir, what is this play, why have you stopped the train?" Is there a King coming? After which Sarma has shouted at the Government official that it should not be repeated in future.

On this, he tweeted that in our State, we want to create a culture where DC, SP or any Government employee/public representative- is going to work only for the people despite background, intellectual capacity or popularity. Babu mindset change is difficult, but we are determined to achieve our goal - Janta hi Janardan. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was in Nagaon district to lay the foundation stone of the road connecting Gumutha village and Maha Mrityunjaya temple to NH37.
