Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma paid a visit to the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Silchar, Assam's Cachar district, on Sunday.

On his visit to the RSS office in Silchar, the President Minister met with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who is on a 5-day tour of Assam's Silchar. Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Silchar on Thursday, January 27th, and will depart on Monday, January 31st. Both the RSS president and the Assam chief minister met in the RSS office for more than an hour.

Before the Chief Minister arrived in the area on Sunday, security-related actions in the area were beefed up. Following his meeting with the RSS chairman, the CM visited with local residents in the area. CM Sarma made a major statement about the construction of an integrated SDO (C) office and a stadium during his visit to Lakhipur town in Assam's Cachar district. The stadium and SDO building works cost a total of Rs 37 crore. The CM also turned to Twitter to share the information, writing that the construction of an integrated SDO (C) office will cost Rs 25 crore and the stadium will cost Rs 12 crore.

In a tweet, the chief minister stated that the government hospital would be renovated to a 100-bed civic hospital. He also stated that at Nehru College in Silchar, a GNM nursing institute will be established, as well as a science stream. The Chief Minister of Assam lay the foundation stone for the balance activities of the Shaheed Nandachand RCC bridge located across the Chiri river on the Sibpur-Lakhipur route in Silchar, in order to improve and provide good connectivity in the state.

According to the CM's tweet, the bridge construction activities were stalled for a long time due to the contractor's expiration. In a tweet on January 30, CM Sarma also stated that the new project will include an approach roadway and projection work under NABARD's RIDF XXVII (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), with the goal of completing the project within the specified time for the state's and people's well-being.
