Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to PM Modi. The letter sought to hounur the late singer and musician SP Balasubramanian  with the country's greatest honour 'Bharat Ratna'. These demands have been made for the invaluable contribution made by the famous singer to music and art.

In a letter to Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy, he wrote, "As a tribute to legend singer SP Balasubramanian for his contribution in the field of music and art, I request you to honour him with bharat ratna." In the letter, he reminded PM Modi that Swar Empress Lata Mangeshkar, Bhupen Hazarika, Ms Subbulakshmi Bismillah Khan and Bhimsen Joshi have been awarded bharat ratna.

"This will be the highest recognition for his commendable work that lasted for five decades and remains in our memories," said CM Reddy. He has sung more than 40,000 songs in many languages. "SPB has 6 national awards for playback singing and their work," he wrote. Awarded 25 AP Rajya Nandi Award for his work in Telugu Cinema. With this, karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been awarded the state awards."
