On Friday, after BJP has staged a walkout from the Karnataka Assembly, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has won the trust vote by voice vote in the Karnataka floor test and become Karnataka Assembly Speaker.

According to ANI, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy gained 117 MLAs voted in his favour. Earlier, before the voting session, in his speech, Yeddyurappa warns Congress that JD(S) has a history of betrayal.

According to the leading daily, B.S. Yeddyurappa alleged that there are numerous charges of corruption against the Gowda family. He suggested that the JD(S) had betrayed BJP in the past and may do the same with Congress again.

Meanwhile, during an interview, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy said that Yeddyurappa's speech was perhaps a rehearsal for drama company. In his statement, he said that he has listened to Mr. Yeddyurappa's speech carefully before voting. But he has given wrong information and used impolite words in the house. He further added that "I will not indulge in personal attacks. Listening to him, I feel the people will not give the BJP power and his speech was perhaps a rehearsal for some drama company."

However, in the early time, the election for the speaker's post was scheduled to take place before the floor test. However, when the BJP candidate withdrew, the scheduled election did not take place.
