Darbhanga: The opposition of CAA and NPR has been increasing steadily for the last several days. There is a BJP-JDU coalition government in Bihar, but unlike the Modi government here, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a big statement about NRC and NPR. It is being said that while addressing a gathering in Darbhanga, Bihar on Sunday, February 23, 2020, Nitish Kumar once again reiterated that NRC will not be applicable in Bihar. Nitish was addressing a function at Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Chandanpatti of Hayaghat block of Darbhanga district. However, JDU supported the Citizenship Amendment Act of the Center.

According to the sources, along with this, he clarified his stand on NPR and said that the National Population Register (NPR) will be updated in the same manner as done in 2010. At the same time, he kept silence about the Citizenship Amendment Act. At the Maulana Azad University Campus in Darbhanga, people said these things when the Chief Minister was asked his opinion on CAA, NRC and NPR.

It has been learned that the Chief Minister compared Maulana Abul Kalam Azad to Mahatma Gandhi. He said that the way people remember Bapu, they will also have to remember Maulana Azad because they too were against the partition of the country. In Darbhanga, he laid the foundation stone of several schemes related to the minority welfare department at a cost of Rs 80 crore.
