Patna: November 27, 2021 means today Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has been arrested by Union Minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy R.K. In the presence of Singh, NTPC will dedicate Unit-1 (660 MW) of Barh Super Thermal Power Station, Patna and Stage-II (500 MW) of NTPC Barauni Thermal Power Station. In Bihar, NTPC Group has installed 7970 MW capacity and 1980 MW additional capacity is under construction. NTPC has installed 3300 MW capacity in Barh , out of which 1320 MW has been commercially operational since March 2106.

In order to promote the development of power sector and to increase the presence of power in Bihar, to reduce its cost, the State Government had transferred Barauni Thermal Power Station, Barauni to NTPC Limited on 15th December, 2018. Under its CSR initiative, several community development activities are being carried out by NTPC in Bihar. These activities mainly are education, health, infrastructure development, drinking water, sanitation, skill development/development. Vocational training programmes have been taken up to promote and help persons with disabilities.

All community development activities are at various stages of implementation in nearby villages through the project set up by the same NTPC. NTPC AIIMS is setting up a Special Burn Unit at Patna and is constructing ITIs in Aurangabad district. Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan, MLA, Lok Sabha, Munger, Neeraj Kumar, Members of Legislative Council, Bihar, Ram Ratan Singh, Assembly Members, Tegra, Bihar, Raj Kumar Singh, Assembly Members, Matihani, Bihar, Gyanendra Kumar Singh, Assembly Members, Other senior representatives of Barh and Barauni areas will also be present on the occasion. Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC Limited, Director, NTPC and other senior officers will also be present at the two programmes.
