Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik was in Bhubaneswar to review the country's first indoor athletic stadium project being built. Which is also going to be constructed in Kalinga Stadium Complex. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Patnaik reviewed the progress of the project and inspection of the work site has already been done. Along with this, met the players of Indian Women's and Men's Hockey Team and also wished them all the best for the Hockey Pro League Tournament. 120 crores is being spent to build this indoor athletic stadium. This stadium is also expected to be ready by the end of 2022. This is going to be India's first indoor athletic stadium. This is going to help the players to prepare for the whole year without any problem.

During this, CM Patnaik has said that this stadium is going to make a significant contribution to the development of athletics in India. The Chief Minister has said about this that in the coming years this indoor stadium is going to become a center for making champions. This stadium will also be able to host national and international games. It will also provide accommodation for more than 100 athletes who have come for coaching. Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also inspected the Tennis Center project. The center court of the Tennis Center is going to be built to host tournaments of national and international level. In this, matches of big tournaments like ITF tournaments and Davis Cup can also be played. Projects worth over Rs 300 crore are being worked out at Kalinga Stadium including Indoor Athletics Stadium, Indoor Aquatics Stadium, Tennis Centre, Staff Residence and Hockey HPC Building.

Chief Minister Patnaik has also seen the match of Odisha Women's Football League going on at the football ground of Kalinga Stadium. He interacted with the women footballers and assured them of all possible help. After which the CM met the Indian hockey teams (men and women) at the hockey stadium and also inquired about their stay and facilities related to practice. The players have also expressed their gratitude for the cooperation that CM has given for the development of hockey. Chief Minister Patnaik has also congratulated the hockey players for the upcoming Pro League matches. The Chief Minister expects that the players of the Indian hockey team will definitely win medals for the country in the Asian and Commonwealth Games this year.
