Bhopal: India is celebrating the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day today. On this occasion, many leaders are remembering and paying homage to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the pioneer of Indian politics. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also paid homage at the statue of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee near Shaurya Smarak Chowk in Bhopal today. This also made Chief Minister Shivraj emotional while remembering Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Chief Minister Shivraj said that governments may have been second but whenever there was a crisis in India, the then power trusted Atalji. He served Mother Bharati day and night. Without Atalji, Parliament seems to be golden. I got a chance to work with him. When Atalji stood in Parliament, there was pin-drop silence. He was also praised by the BJP's opposition.

Chief Minister Shivraj said India was built by nuclear power Atalji. Sometimes there is disappointment in the mind and his poetry fills the life with hope. A strong, prosperous, powerful India is being built, which the world is witnessing. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born in Gwalior, MP. MP made a significant contribution in giving direction to Atalji's political career. In 1971, for the first time, he reached Parliament after winning the Lok Sabha elections from Gwalior on a Jan Sangh ticket. Thereafter, he was also elected as an MP from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was declared the prime ministerial candidate by the BJP for the first time at a rally held at Manawar in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
