Bhopal: On the initiative of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Tribal Panchayat was held in the capital on 31st August, the Free Caste Day. The chief minister's interaction program with the Mukti, Ghumkad, and Ardha Ghumakkad Tribal Panchayats was inaugurated by Kanya Pujan and Deep Prajwal. The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Welfare of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Free, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes was also present on the occasion.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed the representatives of the liberated, nomadic, and semi-nomadic tribes by presenting shawl and shrifal shrifal on the dais at a function in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

At the same event, CM Shivraj said, "Today I welcome those who have lagged behind in the race for development, who are still facing the brunt of poverty and inequality, who have not historically got the status of equality, who had lost their identity to save the country, religion, and culture. I salute your penance and resolve." The liberated, nomadic, and semi-nomadic tribe has its own tradition and history and this black law was repealed on this day itself. Since then, it has been celebrated every year by all nomadic castes as Liberation Day.

31st August is celebrated as Liberation Day on the soil of Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj said, "Your social, economic and educational empowerment is the resolve of the Madhya Pradesh government, the name of the Ministry is now the nomadic, semi-ghokad department. As per your demand, the Ministry will be renamed as the nomadic and semi-Nomadic Tribal Departments, the problem of certificates to the liberated, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribal brothers and sisters will no longer be there. Now, caste and tribe will be recorded in their certificates. Today, these Panchayats should resolve that we will teach every son and daughter of ours. Today, I decided that these children will be reserved seats in Shramodaya Vidyalaya, Gyanodaya Vidyalaya. If required, Eklavya will also reserve seats in the school. Space will also be given in hostels.''
