Damoh: The controversy over the conversion of students and teachers to Islam at Ganga Jamuna School in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, is increasing. After state Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, now Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has shown a strong stand in this matter. He has made it clear that educational institutions, whether it is madrasas, will check if education is being imparted there in a wrong manner. The Chief Minister described the Damoh incident as a very serious matter and said that an FIR is being lodged in this matter. Strict action will be taken against such people.

Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "In some places, there are vicious cycles of religious conversion, we will not allow them to succeed. We have also instructed to investigate the entire state, especially those educational institutions, whether madrasas are running, if education is being imparted in a wrong way, we will also check it. The Chief Minister said that no school can force girls to wear a different dress. Not only this, one cannot be forced to tie a scarf. Let the inquiry report come, strict action will be taken against all those who are guilty."

State School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar had on Tuesday accused Ganga Jamuna School of religious conversion. He also suspected that the school had links with militants. School Education Minister Parmar had said, "Minor sons and daughters come to a school and some other faith is imposed on them other than the faith of the house. The role of the school is questionable and it is now coming to light that teachers in schools have also converted. If adult people are being converted there, it means that conversion activity is going on there. That is why I say that it is not only an act of conversion in the name of school, but maybe they also have links with terrorists. ”
