Angad Dev, the second Guru of the Sikhs, was born on March 31, 1504, in Harike village in Punjab. Guru Nanak Dev, influenced by the devotion and spiritual ability of Angad Dev, considered him his part and named him Angad. That is why Angad Dev Ji is also known as Lehna.
On the other hand, Guru Angad celebrates the birth anniversary of Dev as 'Angad Dev Jayanti.' Guru Angad Dev wrote many verses and also improved them in Gurumukhi script. At the same time, Guru Angad Dev started the langar system, besides setting up other centers for the practice of Sikhism.
