NEW DELHI: Ahead of K’taka Electioneering Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday poked fun at Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah for his decision to fight from two seats in the 2018 state assembly polls.

"I was reading the papers and saw a 2+1 formula in Karnataka. This is a version of family politics in Karnataka. This is the innovation of the CM of Karnataka. He is fearing defeat so changing seats, fighting two seats. And, in his old seat he has sent his son," PM Modi said while attacking his campaign saturation bombing in the poll-bound state.

Worth mentioning here Siddaramaiah is contesting from Chamundeshwari constituency in Mysuru and also from Badami constituency in Bagalkot district as well while Siddaramaiah's son Yatindra is fighting from Varuna in his maiden election contest.

The PM asserted that while for the Congress it is about family politics, for BJP it is about people's politics. "If CM has a 2+1 formula then ministers have 1+1 formula. Relatives of ministers are fighting polls. This is hurting the workers of the Congress," PM Modi added.

With counter attack to PM Modi's "2+1" formula crack, CM Siddaramaiah reminded the PM that he too fought from 2 parliamentary seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha seats.

"Was it fear that drove you to contest from 2 parliamentary constituencies (Varanasi & Vadodara) Mr. PM @narendramodi ? Of course you are a 56 inch man, you would have some clever explanation!! Forget 2 seats, Sir. Worry about the fact that your party will not cross 60-70!," Siddaramaiah immediately tweeted after the PM's public meeting.
