Mumbai: Maharashtra's CM Uddhav Thackeray has inaugurated Asia's largest data centre online in Panvel, Mumbai. During the inauguration, Union Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was also associated with the program through online medium. This data centre belongs to private company Yotta Infrastructure, which is associated with the Hiranandani Group. This data centre will have 7200 racks and there will always be a 48-hour backup with 50 MW of power.

It will be in one of the five largest buildings in the NM1 Panvel Data Center Park. When the data centre work starts in these five buildings, then there will be 30 thousand racks and backup of 210 MW will be present. Yotta claims that the company has kept the lowest operational cost per rack. Recently NM1 data centre has received Fault-Tolerant tag from the USA. This tag from the Uptime Institute of America is recognized globally. With this tag, the company can assure its customers to work better.

Darshan Hiranandani, CEO of Hiranandani Group, said that, globally, there is a shortage of data centres in India. Whereas the data consumption in India is much higher than the global. It is very important to fill this gap in the kind of conditions that are being created after the coronavirus. To meet the demand, meeting the requirements of a better data centre is the need of the hour.
