Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat on Saturday laid the foundation of the state-level army at Purkul village in Dehradun. The army will have a description of the brave sons who sacrificed their lives in defense of the country since independence. During the foundation stone laying ceremony, he has announced to increase the grant to the families of the martyrs.
Cm Trivendra Rawat announced the increase in the grant to the families of the martyrs from 10 lakh to 15 lakh on the occasion. He also requested for the soil and rock of the village of every martyred soldier of the state to be brought to Purkul for the construction of the military land. Earlier this morning, he laid the foundation stone of The Army Dham and said, "The honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced to build a military dham in the state before the Lok Sabha elections." Although, there could have been no greater muhurat than Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th birth anniversary and Parakram Diwas for the Bhoomi Pujan of the military land, a symbol of army gallantry.
According to an official release, Chief Minister Rawat said that additional Chief Secretary at the state level and additional district magistrate at the district level have been made nodal officers address the problems of the soldiers and ex-servicemen. In addition, the state government has also made arrangements to accommodate kin of soldiers and paramilitary soldiers killed in the country's defense in a government job as per merit, he added. In this regard, he said that so far 14 dependents have been serviced while 6 others are in the process of appointment.
