Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM and BJP's firebrand leader Yogi Adityanath praised the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam, saying that if required, he can implement NRC in UP as well. In an interview with an English newspaper, CM Yogi said that implementing NRC is an important and courageous step.

CM Yogi told the journalist, "These things are being implemented step-wise and I think when UP needs NRC, we will implement it. " CM Yogi said that its implementation was very important for national security and the problems faced by the poor due to illegal immigration will also end.
