Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM and BJP's firebrand leader Yogi Adityanath praised the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam, saying that if required, he can implement NRC in UP as well. In an interview with an English newspaper, CM Yogi said that implementing NRC is an important and courageous step.

CM Yogi told the journalist, "These things are being implemented step-wise and I think when UP needs NRC, we will implement it. In the first phase, it has happened in Assam and the way From what it is being brought, this can be an example for us. " CM Yogi said that its implementation was very important for national security and the problems faced by the poor due to illegal immigration will also end.

On the statement of CM Yogi, UP Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma has said that the government is very strict about the intruders who are illegal. Work will also be done on NRC in the state as it is related to national security. The central government has also campaigned on this, in view of those who are living illegally in UP and are intruders, NRC will be implemented in the state as well.
