Lucknow: In order to make Ayodhya a grand tourist destination and develop world-class facilities for devotees, the Yogi government of UP has decided to name the under-construction Ayodhya airport as 'Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport'. On Tuesday, the Cabinet meeting of the Uttar Pradesh government approved the proposal. After this, there is an atmosphere of celebration in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram.

State Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has assured that the state government is committed to make Ayodhya, the city of Shri Ram Lala, a leading place in the religious places of the world. The construction of this airport was announced by CM Yogi himself on the occasion of Deepotsav in November 2018. It will be one of the largest airports in UP and it will have international as well as domestic terminals.

The Yogi government believes that once the construction of the Ram temple is completed, there will be a huge crowd of native and foreign devotees, hence its preparations are already being made. For the construction of Ayodhya's 'Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport', the Yogi government has allocated Rs 525 crore fund and Rs 300 crore has already been spent. Its construction will be completed by December 2021.
