CM Yogi demands Airports for Bareilly, Saharanpur and Meerut

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday urged the Central government to build airports in Bareilly, Saharanpur and Meerut. A state government spokesman said, Yogi made the demand in a meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on development works and infrastructure facilities for Ayodhya, Chitrakoot and Sonbhadra airport through video conferencing.

CM Yogi urged the Union Minister to undertake airport development works at Hindon, Saharanpur, Meerut, Lucknow and Varanasi in Bareilly, Ghaziabad. He said that with the facility of flying from Bareilly, Hindon, Saharanpur and Meerut, the air services will expand and benefit the citizens of these areas. CM Yogi said that the state government is working expeditiously as per the requirements of the central government for setting up of Ayodhya, Chitrakoot and Myharpur (Sonbhadra) airports. No issue will be pending in respect of these. The three districts are working on a war footing for early establishment of the airport.

CM Yogi said that 17 airports have been started in Uttar Pradesh in the last three and a half years. There were only two airports in the state earlier, but at present seven airports are being operated. The facility of civil aviation will be increased as all 17 airports are started.
