Lucknow: Rains are wreaking havoc in western Uttar Pradesh. For the second consecutive day, the normal life of the people has been disrupted due to rain. Eastern UP is also whining with floods. CM Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh on Friday. He has conducted an aerial survey of Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Ayodhya, Gonda and Barabanki districts around the Saryu river and asked the district magistrates of these districts to give a detailed report on the flood relief work done so far.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), CM Yogi has instructed the District Magistrates to speed up relief work in the affected villages of these districts as well as to shift the people and animals of the flood-affected villages to safer places. As many as 247 villages in around 14 districts of the state are reeling under floods. Meanwhile, CM Yogi conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas to inspect the situation in these districts.  

Teams of NDRF, PAC and SDRF have been deployed in the flood-affected areas. CM Yogi has instructed the District Magistrates of the flood-affected districts to expedite the relief work and submit a report of the work done in this direction. CM Yogi has instructed the District Magistrates to assess the damage of public money and livestock due to floods as per the prescribed standards and speed up the work of distributing help and flood relief materials.
