CM Yogi plans seaplane service between Varanasi and Gorakhpur

The government of Yogi Adityanath aims to launch the first seaplane service between Varanasi and Gorakhpur. The state government has addressed the Ministry of Civil Aviation a letter in this respect. The state of Uttar Pradesh has requested that the federal government perform a feasibility assessment and take further action on the subject.

Nand Gopal Gupta, the minister of civil aviation of Uttar Pradesh, On Tuesday, Nandi met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi to discuss the launch of seaplane service between Varanasi and Gorakhpur. They also talked about other aviation-related topics.

Nand Gopal Gupta, according to government sources, Nandi has requested Jyotiraditya Scindia to act quickly on the UP government's seaplane service proposal to the centre. The seaplanes are capable of taking off and landing on both land and water. A 300-meter-long reservoir may also be used for landing and flying. The country's central government has planned 100 seaplane services, with around 111 rivers serving as airstrips.
