New Delhi: Indraprastha Gas Limited has once again raised the prices of CNG and PNG. This is the second time in 10 days that gas prices have been increased. The new prices are applicable from October 13 i.e. today. Earlier, prices were hiked on October 2. This was the 5th time this year that prices of CNG and PNG have increased.

According to Indraprastha Gas Limited, CNG and PNG have become more expensive than Rs 2. CNG will be available at Rs 49.76 per kg and PNG at Rs 35.11 per SCM in the capital Delhi from today. On the other hand, CNG in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad will be available at Rs 56.02 per kg and Gurugram at Rs 58.20 per kg. However, coming to PNG, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad will cost Rs 34.86 per SCM and Gurugram will have Rs 33.31.

On 4th October last year, the prices of CNG and PNG increased. At that time, the price of CNG in the capital Delhi had gone up to Rs 42.70 per kg and PNG to Rs 27.50 per SCM. Most trains in Delhi-NCR run on bus, taxi and auto CNG. According to IGL, CNG is much cheaper than petrol and diesel. The operational cost of vehicles running on CNG is 66 per cent less than petrol and 28 per cent less than diesel.
