At present, the country is going through an unprecedented power threat. More than 125 thermal power stations in the country are not getting a supply of coal as per demand. Due to which many plants have to be closed down. Coal India, a state-owned company that has a single on coal production in the country, has taken a big decision. Now the company will supply coal only to power plants. In this case, the company has temporarily banned the supply of coal to other sectors.

Let me tell you that about 80 per cent of the coal production in the country is done by Coal India. Coal India's decision shows how serious the power and coal situation in the country is. South Eastern Coalfields Limited, a branch of Coal India, has recently issued a letter. In which the company has informed that supply to the non-power sector will be pending till further information. The decision has been taken in view of the shortage of coal in power plants in the country. This will help in increasing the supply of coal to power plants.

The same company said it is also continuously increasing its production. For the last 4 days, 16.1 lakh tonnes of MT of coal has been supplied to the power sector continuously. Once the situation improves, when the coal level in coal-fired plants reaches a convenient situation, the supply of coal to the other sector will be resumed regularly. The Indian Energy Exchange is facing the blame for alleged profiteering amid the coal threat. The coal threat in India has led to a decline in power generation.
