New Delhi: Cold wave conditions are likely to intensify in north Indian states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. The double blow of dense fog along with the cold wave can increase the difficulties of the people. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for a severe cold for 6 days in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. According to the IMD, there will be severe cold in Delhi-NCR for the next 3 days and then the dense fog will remain in the whole of North India for 3 days.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 1.4 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung and 1.6 degrees Celsius at Lodhi Road. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 6 degrees below normal on Monday, January 16. However, the sun is coming out as the day progresses. The Meteorological Department has predicted a maximum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius in Delhi for three consecutive days.

According to the IMD, the minimum temperature is likely to remain up to 3 degrees during the winter season in Delhi-NCR for 3 days, as well as a cold wave. Then people will have to face the chill with the fog. According to the IMD, cold wave conditions will prevail on January 16, 17, and 18, while dense fog will prevail on January 19, 20, and 21. During this time, the temperature at the main stations of Delhi-NCR can go up to 3 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature can go up to 21 degrees Celsius.
