An intense cold wave conditions prevailed all over Odisha with the minimum temperature is to dip by 1-2 degrees over the coastal belt of Odisha during the next two days, while mercury levels are expected to fall by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius below normal, the Metrological Department predicted.
Intense cold wave conditions will prevail over Odisha as night temperature is expected to hover around 10-11 degrees in many places of the State, particularly in the interior regions.
There will be no major change in minimum temperature in Odisha on December 29-30, however, shallow to moderate fog conditions will be seen in Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Malkangiri district, said MeT centre director HR Biswas. The night temperature in Bhubaneswar will drop by a maximum of 2 degrees and the city will experience misty conditions early morning during the next 48 hours.
The India Metrological Department has also issued a warning for several parts of Odisha which will experience intense cold wave conditions after the New Year. In view of the prevailing weather conditions, a yellow warning has been issued for the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal.
