British band Coldplay is all the hype lately, performing shows in India in Ahmedabad and Mumbai. After the last performance in Ahmedabad, Coldplay’s frontman and vocalist Chris Martin ensured a time off to visit the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela at Prayagraj on Monday, accompanied by his girlfriend actor Dakota Johnson. A video of the couple has been doing the rounds on social media where they are seen arriving at the Kumbh mela.

The video captured by ANI showcases Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson sitting in the car surrounded by ever enthusiastic onlookers outside. Chris looked to be quite in the moment, filled with all the spiritual energy of the grand Mahakumbh. He was witnessed interacting with fans through gestures. At a point, he stuck his tongue out while posing for the camera.

Reacting to the video, users expressed their views full of joy and admiration for the couple. One of them said, “5 concerts in two cities and now #Mahakumbhmela2025, Aadhar Card for Chris Martin please.” While, another one even called him Krishna Martand, instead of Chris Martin. Someone said, “Love how Chris and Dakota are embracing the Indian culture.”

Mahakumbh mela continues in full swing, the event visited by masses from all parts of the world. Started from January 13, 2025 the Mahakumbh will continue till 26^th February 2025. Devotees and pilgrims are reaching to the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Till now, the grand event has witnessed a flock of over 14.76 crore devotees, who have taken the holy dip at the Sangam. Moreover, it is expected to attract an estimated 40 crore devotees.

Coldplay in India

The British band that is now a global sensation is out for its Music of the Spheres World Tour. Under which, it has performed five shows in India led by Chris Martin. The band includes guitarist Johnny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer and percussionist Will Champion along with manager Phil Harvey. The first three shows were held successfully in Mumbai. And the remaining two, back-to-back in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium.

Notably, its final one on the eve of Republic Day last Sunday, registered an attendance of 1.34 lakh people. Making it the largest ever concert in India, the first occasion where a ticketed concert had a crowd of a lakh. Prior to this, the concerts of singers Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber saw 50,000 people. On 26^th January, Chris also sang his rendition of Vande Mataram at the concert, grabbing cheers and applaud from the audience.

Star couple Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin earlier visited Shri Babulnath Temple in Mumbai, while in India. This visit was extensively shared on social media platforms with photos and videos of the couple trending online. Dakota Johnson had also reached to seek blessings at the Siddhi Vinayak temple along with Indian actresses Sonali Bendre and Gayatri Joshi.
