You can see he has openly apologized for his statement. Vir Das had apparently spoken ill of transgender people by making fun of the gender pronoun. Now the actor apologized and said, 'I made a mistake.' He thanked the queer fan who messaged on social media and said, 'My joke had the opposite effect... And made it sound like trans struggle is unimportant.' He wrote, "I did a joke on the new ten on ten episode that my friends in the Trans community felt hurt by. I see why. My intent in the moment, was to say Trans people have courage the Govt never ever could and it was set up wrong and uninformed. I messed up."

The screenwriter Ghazal Dhaliwal and designer Saisha Shinde had earlier expressed their disappointment over Vir Das's statement. Talking about Vir Das's career, he started his career with the film Badmash Company. So far he has done many shows as a comedian. He has so far appeared in films like Revolver Rani, Mumbai Kalinga, Love Aaj Kal, Delhi Belly.
