New Delhi: The popular GV80 coupe will be introduced by Hyundai-owned luxury automaker Genesis for the international markets. The mule of the upcoming coupe-testing SUV was recently spotted close to the Arctic Circle, albeit in a heavily camouflaged form.

The upcoming four-wheeler, which will be based on the standard model, will feature a commanding design language and a variety of engine options.

Genesis was initially a luxury car division of South Korean auto behemoth Hyundai, but it soon developed into a stand-alone brand in markets such as the US.

In 2020, the automaker unveiled the GV80, a mid-size crossover built on the M3 modular platform. However, as the competition intensifies, the business is now considering a coupe variant to attract more customers.

The upcoming coupe-SUV, which is based on the Genesis GV80 standard model, will feature a longer bonnet, a large chrome grille and a sloping roofline.

It will be flanked by flared wheel arches, designer alloy wheels, indicator-mounted ORVMs and blacked-out B-pillars. Wraparound LED taillamps, two oval exhaust tips, a roof mounted spoiler and a diffuser will all be present at the rear of the vehicle.

Genesis hasn't released the specifications of the GV80 coupe-tech SUV yet. 3.5-litre, twin-turbocharged, V6 diesel engine and 2.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine from the base model with 300 horsepower and 311 Nm of torque, respectively, we hope for.

The interior of the upcoming Genesis GV80 coupe-SUV is predicted to be luxurious with five seats, faux wood trim, heated seats, automatic climate control and multifunction steering wheel.

The SUV is likely to come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument panel. Passengers' safety should be guaranteed by multiple airbags and ADAS features.

At the launch event of the vehicle, the manufacturer should announce the GV80 Coupe-price. For SUV comparison, the starting price for the standard GV80 variant in the US market is $55,550, or roughly Rs. 45.84 lakhs.
