Karnataka Home Minister's 'commendable' initiative to make his own house hospital

Bangalore: In Karnataka, hospitals are facing bed shortages due to the horrific form of the second wave of corona virus. In a commendable step, The State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has converted his home at Shiggaon in Haveri district into a 50-bed covid care hospital.

According to reports, veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who also handles the state law and legislative affairs ministry, has made his home a mini hospital to address the shortage of beds in city hospitals. On Thursday (May 13, 2021), Bommai handed over his house to the authorities to set up a fully developed covid-care centre in Shiggaon.

Shiggaon is a small town in north Karnataka and Basavaraj bommai represents The Shiggaon constituency in the State Assembly. 50 beds have been installed at the home minister's residence with necessary medical facilities. Oxygen facility is available on all beds of this covid centre. More oxygen concentraters will be brought here in the next few days. Oxygen facility will be installed in every bed for treatment of corona patients.
