New Delhi: Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has given a statement on various issues related to trade between India and America. The Commerce Minister said that talks are on to resolve the dispute arising between the two countries. Goyal said that the final announcement in this regard will be made after the meeting of the top leaders of both the countries.

 PM Modi is going to visit America from 21 to 27 September. During this time he will also address the annual session of the U.N. General Assembly. During this time he will also attend several bilateral and multilateral meetings in New York. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal told reporters, "We are in talks with America." We have fixed a few things.

We are looking at many areas with an open heart. When Goyal was asked about which areas could be announced during the Modi-Trump meeting. To this he said, "We have been in talks with America for the last several months." We are in talks to resolve many of these issues. Whether any agreement will be announced or not will depend on the PM and the President.

India wants the US to waive the high duty imposed on some steel and aluminum products. It also seeks a profit on India's total products under the US GSP. Apart from this, India wants better market access for products like agriculture, motor and engineering. At the same time, Merika wants India to provide more market access by cutting import duty on agricultural products, dairy products, medical equipment, IT and communications goods.
