CPI warns government over attack on farmers, took out to street for protest

Patna: Communist Party of India (CPI) Secretary of Bihar State Council Ramnaresh Pandey gave an ultimatum to the Modi government while addressing a joint press conference. He said that the withdrawal of three anti-farmer laws being implemented by the Modi government, as per PM Modi's election promise, 19 lakh employment guarantee and termination of contract and employment in Bihar, equal pay guarantee for equal work etc. The voice will be loud in the assembly regarding the demands.

He said that the CPI will fight the massive manpower on the streets with these demands until their demands are met. Ramnaresh further said that CPI MLAs in the winter session of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, who were marching in the joint session of the Assembly ended yesterday, in order to stop water cannons, teardrop shells and three-way roads in the harsh winter. Describing government actions of barricading as the murder of democracy, he strongly protested against it and shouted slogans reaching the well of the House.

He also said that the four MLAs of the CPI are not only representing their respective constituencies but represent and do the whole of Bihar behind which the power of the entire party organization and movement of the state is standing. Their responsibilities have increased in this regard and they are fully committed to fulfilling them.
