Itanagar: Leaders of four political parties in Arunachal Pradesh have lodged a police complaint against state CM Pema Khandu and Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju. Leaders have accused him of "deliberately violating" several laws besides trying to change the territory of Arunachal Pradesh. The complaint has been registered at Kimin police station in Papumpare district on Thursday.

The complaint relates to the controversy over the change of kimin name to Bilgarh in Assam by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) during a June 17 programme. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had inaugurated the 20 km Kimin-Potin road and 11 other such projects. The leaders who lodged the complaint include Kahfa Bengia of the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) and Kalinga Jerang, Ruhi Tagung and Riba Pangia Dolo of janata dal (united)(JDU), Tita Tegi Tara of congress and Gyamar Tana and Jarjum Ete of Janata Dal (Secular).

The complainants alleged that Khandu and Rijiju had violated Section 3 of the Constitution in violation of the Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Act, 1987, the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation of 1873 (Restricted Area Permit) and the Arunachal Pradesh (Land Settlement and Records) Act, 2000. He also accused the CM and the Union minister of illegal attempts to change the territory of the state, which led to communal tension and serious unrest in Kimin.
