NEW DELHI: A criminal complaint has been filed in Delhi against Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Shehla Rashid. The court also sought arrest of her for allegedly spreading fake news against the Indian Army and the Indian government. The complaint was filed by Supreme Court lawyer Alkh Alok Srivastava.

The Indian Army has responded to Shehla Rashid's tweet. Shehla Rashid had 10 tweets on Sunday about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in which she claimed that the situation in Kashmir is very bad. The Indian Army has responded to his tweets and termed his claims as baseless. In a tweet, the Indian Army said, "The allegations made by Shehla Rashid are baseless and dismissed. Such unverified and fake news is spread by anti-social elements and organisations to provoke unheard of population. '

JNU student leader Shehla Rashid is constantly active on Twitter. In a series of tweets on Sunday, he claimed that security forces in Kashmir are forcibly targeting local civilians. They are being detonated for no reason. Even today, he tweeted a series of tweets against the BJP. In a tweet, he wrote that according to the BJP, everyone, including Omar Abdullah, Shehla Rashid, Kapil Kak, Ramchandra Guha, Kavita Krishnan, is Pakistan-sponsored.
