Cong-JD(S) flock of MLAs wants to fly their home but leaders say not till Thursday

BENGALURU: Taking safety measures and to prevent from horse-trading all Congress and JD(S) and two independent MLAs will hole up in hotels till chief minister elected H D Kumaraswamy proves his majority in the floor test scheduled for Thursday (May 24), in spite of rumblings of restlessness among the home-sick legislators.

The JD(S) and Congress had, early Sunday morning, taken decision to send their MLAs to their respective constituencies as they have been away from their kins and home since May 15. In fact, many MLAs were raring to go to return home and were demanding to their leaders.

However, the leaders, changed their mind set and asked the MLAs to stay put in hotels till Thursday, being panic that BJP might poach them. They also turned down the demand of the MLAs to let them to visit their natives at least for a day.

While Congress MLAs (78)are camping at Hilton near Kempegowda International Airport, Janta Dal secular JD(S) MLAs were shifted from Le Meridien to a resort near Doddaballapur in the evening. Both Anand Singh and Pratapagouda Patil, who were “most wanted “ and had resurfaced in the assembly on Saturday after going missing for four days, are also staying with their Congress contemporaries.

Recently Talking to ANI BC Patil, Cong MLA, Karnataka said” They (BJP) offered me Minister post & all, it's a fact. I don't know about Hebbar (Congress MLA Shivaram Hebbar who reportedly claimed that Congress lied about bribe tape), I can talk about myself. Yeddyurappa, Sriramulu & Muralidhar Rao spoke to me”.
