Jaipur: Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers came face to face during a demonstration in Rajasthan today. While Congress leaders and activists had gathered to observe a silent fast against the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri, BJP workers were protesting demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the REET paper leak. Congress leaders and workers were on a three-hour silent fast, but they did not appear silent even for three minutes.

In Rajasthan, the Congress was observing a silent fast over the Lakhimpur violence, while the BJP nearby protested over the leakage of the REET examination paper. The Congress' silent fast began about an hour late. The three-hour silent fast saw Congress leaders interacting for more than 2 hours. MLA, the activists were seen talking to each other there, i.e., there was no silence. The Rajasthan Congress had announced to sit on a silent fast from 10 am to 1 pm, but the programme started at 11 am.

On the other hand, the BJP resorted to violence on the streets of Rajasthan. BJP workers approached the silent place of Congress and cornered the government in the REET exam paper leak case. BJP state unit president Satish Punia also attended the demonstration.
