The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee questioned the BJP-led Central and State Governments on Monday for being silent in the kidnapping of a 17-year-old boy in Upper Siang district.

In a statement to the press, APCC spokesperson Zirgi Kadu said, "If the incident had occurred in another area of India, it would have been a national headline, but the BJP-led Central Government has been neglecting Arunachal Pradesh. The Chinese PLA has verified the boy's presence on their country, according to media sources, and the Indian government should assure his safe return before Republic Day."

"We may disagree with the BJP on policy or as a political group, but we feel they will move quickly to provide assistance to the family members." Similarly, we have full confidence in our Indian Army to take appropriate measures to ensure the safe return of the boy," the spokesperson added. The APCC further asked the central and state governments to take strong measures to safeguard India's borders, particularly in border areas, to ensure that such actions are not repeated and that no one else illegally enters Indian territory.
