Chandigarh: Former Lok Sabha MP Raj Babbar expressed strong confidence in Congress's success in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, emphasizing that Bhupinder Hooda stands out as the party's leading candidate for Chief Minister.

"Everyone is saying that the Congress government will come to power in Haryana. This reflects the dissatisfaction with the BJP's 10-year rule in the state; the public is ready to settle accounts," Babbar stated during a media interaction.

Although he recently lost the Lok Sabha elections in Gurugram, Babbar affirmed that the decision regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate will ultimately rest with the Congress high command. "MLAs voice their opinions on the Chief Minister, and the high command makes decisions based on that. The Chief Minister will be someone the people want," he explained.

Highlighting Hooda's significant contributions to the state, Babbar said, "When we talk about Haryana, Bhupinder Hooda's name prominently comes to mind. He has undertaken substantial development and welfare work for the people of Haryana. This truth cannot be denied."

He further clarified that while Congress has prominent leaders at the national level, Hooda remains the face most associated with the party in Haryana. "In the context of Haryana, when we mention the Congress party, Hooda Saheb is the first name that comes to mind. This is the undeniable truth," Babbar concluded.

The Haryana Assembly elections are set for October 5, with results to be announced alongside Jammu and Kashmir on October 8.
