Dehradun: Congress is yet to open its cards to join the United Front being formed in Dehradun to jointly oppose CAA in India for the past several days. It is being said that Congress state president Pritam Singh says that he will take a decision only after talking at the party level. It is enough that he has agreed to join the meeting called on 21 January 2020 to protest against the CAA and NRC. In order to give a face to the opposition of CAA and NRC, Congress is taking the initiative to form a common front. In Dehradun, the state Congress has got this opportunity sitting. It has been decided to form a united front in a meeting of representatives of left-wing organizations as well as several NGOs. Former state president of Congress Kishore Upadhyay is also directly associated with this campaign.

It was decided to expand this front to intensify the protest and include SP, BSP as well as regional political parties. There is an effort by the officials of the Morcha that the main opposition party Congress be mainly involved in it. The leader of the front met Congress state president Pritam Singh about this. Morcha is now holding a meeting of all the parties on 21 January 2020 and it is an attempt to hold a huge demonstration in Dehradun on 30 January.

Sources say Pritam Singh is yet to take a decision regarding this matter. On Saturday, Pritam said that he will attend the meeting on 21 January. As far as the Congress is openly opposed to the CAA and NRC, it will be decided by talking to the party officials. If the sources are to be believed, Congress is currently looking for the issues that can surround the state government. In CAA and NRC, there is hardly any chance to directly hurt the state government.
