Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's statement on Congress leader Surjewala's remarks after Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat has surfaced. Captain Amarinder Singh says, "It seems that the entire Congress has come down to do comedy like Navjot Singh Sidhu.'' Not only that, the captain termed the rhetoric of the two as a 'comedy of mistakes.' Let me tell all of you that last Friday, Harish Rawat had said, "Based on a letter signed by 43 Congress MLAs from Punjab, the party high command has taken action against the Captain.''
Later on Saturday, Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala issued a statement saying, "The captain has been removed on the basis of a letter signed by 78 MLAs from Punjab.'' The captain has now taken a dig at it. He has said, "Next they will claim that only 117 MLAs wrote a letter against me.'' While reprimanding the Congress for the false rhetoric by the leaders in an attempt to tackle the party crisis in Punjab, the Captain said, "The different figures of those who signed the letters received by the party leadership against him are proving that Congress leaders lack confidence.''
At the same time, he said, "The party's position at the moment is such that they are not even able to coordinate their lies properly. Congress is in a completely chaotic state and the crisis is mounting. A large section of senior party leaders has been disillusioned with the functioning of the party.'' At the same time, he added, "The truth of the matter was that 43 MLAs who signed the said letter were forced to do so under pressure. After its mismanagement of dealing with the Punjab crisis, the Congress is now in a state of complete panic, which is evident from the statements of its leaders. The panic-stricken party is battling internal chaos and working hard to remove the blame for its failures. It is sad to see how they are openly resorting to lies to justify their wrongdoings.''
