Congress joining MDA government is Fine! Meghalaya BJP

Ahead of the Assembly election, there is a lot of upheavals. Now the Meghalaya BJP has stated that it has no objections to the Congress joining the state's Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA), of which it is also a member.

Meghalaya's MDA govt is the country's first and only state to have both the BJP and the Congress as partners. On February 8, five Meghalaya Congress MPs joined the state's NPP-led MDA government. BJP national vice president Chuba Ao reacted on the move, saying that Meghalaya is paving the way for a fully "Congress-mukt" India.

He made it clear that the BJP will not leave the government because Congress has come into the Govt.  “There is no more Congress in Meghalaya. A Congress-mukt Meghalaya is under process,” Chuba Ao said.  Ao, on the other hand, criticized Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya and the national head of the National People's Party (NPP), for "not keeping the BJP in the loop" on political events.

"We were taken advantage of. As an alliance partner, we will write to the chief minister to find out what is going on in the government," Ao added.
