New Delhi:  Dr. Sanjay Singh has resigned as a member of Congress and Rajya Sabha. On Wednesday, he will take over as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sanjay Singh belongs to the Raj Parivar of Amethi. Sanjay Singh had entered the fray from Sultanpur Lok Sabha seat in this time of Lok Sabha elections but could not save his bail.

Dr. Sanjay Singh is a Rajya Sabha member from Assam and his tenure was still one year. Even after that, he has announced to quit the Rajya Sabha and the Congress. Though Sanjay Singh had initiated his political shift from the Congress party, he left the Congress during the Ram temple movement and joined the BJP.

Sanjay Singh said after his resignation, "I am leaving the Congress because the Congress leadership is zero. I support Modi because of the 'everyone's development', he said, "Congress is still in the past, it doesn't know its future. Today the whole country is with Pm Narendra Modi and if the whole country is with him, I am with him. Tomorrow I will join the BJP. I have resigned from the party and Rajya Sabha," he said.
