New Delhi: Congress leader Rajesh Lilothia also reached the Supreme Court on the matter of demolition of the Ravidas temple on Friday. The DDA has demanded contempt action for breaking the temple built in Tughlakabad, Delhi. They demanded the right to rebuild the temple and worship there. Earlier, Haryana Congress leader Ashok Tanwar also filed a petition. Both will be heard on Monday.

Congress state president Ashok Tanwar had filed a petition saying that all the new rules law does not apply to this temple, because this temple is 600 years old and the faith of millions of people is attached to this temple. In the petition, making the DDA a party in this case, the petitioner has constructed the temple and has sought permission from the top court to do more worship. The petition also mentions the right to worship and Section 21A. The petition said that the Supreme Court never ordered the temple to be demolished, rather it was said to move it and the way the temple was demolished is part of a larger conspiracy.

The petition says that the court should reconsider its decision and pass the order for the construction of the temple. Many mythological facts have also been cited in the petition. The temple was demolished on August 10 by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on the orders of the Supreme Court.
