New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had questioned the existence of Congress-led coalition UPA in Mumbai last Wednesday. Mamata Banerjee's strategist Prashant Kishore also lashed out at the Congress and questioned its ability to lead. Several party leaders hit back at Prashant Kishore after he attacked the Congress. Youth Congress unit president BV Srinivas shared an old video of PK and slammed him in which he is seen praising Rahul Gandhi.

In the video shared by Congress leader BV Srinivas, PK is seen saying that people are saying that Rahul Gandhi has failed. If this is being said on the basis of election results, it is not correct. He is saying in the video how you can call Rahul Gandhi a failure as Congress president based on the election results of the last one year. Whether you are their opposition or party, it does not matter. It may be recalled that Mamata Banerjee had questioned the existence of UPA while talking to the press after meeting NCP chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai recently. Mamata Banerjee said what is UPA? There is no UPA. She had attacked the Congress and Rahul Gandhi without naming them saying that there are some parties and people who do nothing. They spend half the time abroad.

Her strategist Prashant Kishore also hit out at the Congress after Mamata Banerjee attacked it. Prashant Kishore tweeted, "The idea and place that the Congress represents is very important for a strong opposition. But the Congress leadership has no divine right even when the party has lost 90 per cent of the elections in the last 10 years. Let the opposition leadership be decided democratically. The question now arises as to why the tone of the PK who once praised Rahul Gandhi has suddenly changed. Does he and Mamata Banerjee have a strategy, or does not all opposition parties want to see the Congress as an elder brother now? Because Mamata herself is also trying to prove herself a Modi option.
