New Delhi: Jitin Prasad, one of the 23 leaders who wrote letters to Sonia Gandhi for organizational change and full-time president's demand in Congress, said on Saturday that their letter was misinterpreted and she had full faith in the party's high command. Prasad also said in an interview recently that this letter was never written with the intention of changing leadership.

When asked about the reason for signing the letter, he said that the letter was written for the purpose of suggesting how to re-create and strengthen the party and introspect to motivate the organization. He emphasized that the purpose of this letter was not to change leadership or to degrade them. Jitin Prasad further said that this letter was misinterpreted.

On the allegations related to challenging the top leadership of the Congress through the letter, Prasad said that "I have full faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and they also have full faith in me". He made this remark at a time when the Congress Committee of Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh passed a resolution and demanded action against him in connection with the dispute related to the letter.
